EdgeX Points Acquisition
Users can acquire points through the following methods:
Hardware Online:
The generation of points for online hardware devices is based on the following formula:
Earning = p × Dv × Lv × α
Where:
p (Base reward parameter): Determined by the device’s payback period. The base daily point reward for each device is calculated based on its payback period and initial price.
Dv (Device performance grading coefficient): Measured when the device first connects (Onboarding), and a performance grade is assigned. For example, the device can be graded as N1, N2, or N3, corresponding to different grading coefficients.
Lv (Online grading coefficient): Based on the device's cumulative online duration, graded from Lv0 to Lv3. The longer the stable online time, the higher the grade, and the higher the reward multiplier.
α (Network quality coefficient): Calculated based on the device's maximum available uplink bandwidth and online rate. The higher the network bandwidth and stable online rate, the higher the α coefficient.
Extended Calculation Formula:
Earning = p × Dv × Lv × (α + β)
β (Boost factor): Additional weighting for network performance based on the user’s selected network utilization mode (e.g., Balance, Turbo, Ultra).
Boost Mode Gains:
Balance: No additional bonus
Turbo: Additional 0.1 to the network quality coefficient
Ultra: Additional 0.2 to the network quality coefficient
Online Rate Rule: The device reports its status (online or offline) every hour. The daily online rate is calculated as the total number of online statuses divided by 24. If the online rate is below 95%, that day will not be counted as effective online.
Interaction Rewards:
New User Registration Reward:
Each new user who registers and logs in for the first time will receive a one-time welcome reward as an incentive to join the EdgeX ecosystem.
Daily Check-in Rewards:
Users can earn points through daily check-ins. Rewards accumulate incrementally with each check-in, and are differentiated based on whether the user has activated an EdgeX device.
Users with activated EdgeX devices receive higher check-in rewards, encouraging long-term device usage.
Invite Friends Reward:
Users who invite friends to register and log in will both receive rewards. There is no limit to the number of invited users, and the reward mechanism further encourages user promotion and network expansion.
Device Activation Reward:
Users who successfully activate their EdgeX devices will receive a one-time reward, further incentivizing users to complete device registration and integrate into the ecosystem.
App Interaction Rewards:
Users can earn rewards by completing specific tasks within the app or interacting with the ecosystem (e.g., submitting reviews, participating in activities), enhancing daily engagement.
Device Usage Rewards:
Users who actively use EdgeX devices within the ecosystem (e.g., performing computational tasks, storing data, or providing network services) will earn additional rewards.
Reward calculation is based on the frequency and efficiency of device usage. For example:
Computing Power Use: Devices participating in high-demand tasks (e.g., AI model training) will earn higher rewards.
Bandwidth Contribution: The more data the device uploads or downloads, the higher the reward.
Storage Utilization: The volume and duration of stored data will also impact the reward.
This reward system encourages users to actively engage in the practical application of devices, increasing the utilization of ecosystem resources.
